BIOPHILIC INTERIOR DESIGN IN HOMES & COMMERCIAL SETTINGS

May 26, 2020

If you didn’t get a chance to see our column in last weekends GT Geelong Advertiser feel free to have a read below…

Biophilic Interior Design is an innovative way of designing the places where we live, work, and learn. We all need nature in a deep and fundamental way. A space comes alive when natural elements like wood, plants and water are introduced. When spaces are designed well it enables us to be more efficient, feel connected, improve our mindset and be in tune with each other.

I know when I walk into client’s homes or a commercial setting I instantly get a feel for the spaces. I can then work on the areas that are feeling disconnected and help reduce stress and improve the overall flow and connection.

You may notice more and more plants are being used in homes and commercial settings, especially in hospitals, health centres, restaurants and work places. The increased use of glass and wood being used in construction allows more light to enter. Glass and plant life work in harmony together. The presence of plant life is an essential aspect to Biophilic Design. With our Interior Design projects we like to make sure that all spaces have connection to the outdoors.

When you’re designing your new build or renovating, have a think about how much light will be coming into your home or commercial building and chat to your Builder, Architect and Interior Designer about what is important to you. How do you want the spaces to feel? Do you want to feel connected and what are the benefits of the design that you are wanting to create?

Enjoy the process :>
