Decor Design Show Melbourne 2016 – Interior Trend Report

July 26, 2016

We made it up to the Decor Design Show in Melbourne over the weekend and our ‘kid in a candy shop’ vibe is still buzzing! Looking forward to the trends for the end half of 2016 and into 2017, we found many beautiful new pieces to consider for future interior design projects.

The continuing trend of the Scandinavian Interior style is still very strong through out the ranges on display. The interior style continues to evolve, keeping the retro feel however with a soft palet of smokey greys,  black, soft pinks and pale tan. I especially loved the highlight art prints with the sketched female profiles; an elegant twist on the retro Scandinavian feel.

There is also a strong trend towards a Hampton’s influence in the interiors; rustic country furniture paired back with rope and canvas details and cane wares making their way into this interior trend field. Two pendants that stood out to me were some beautiful cane pendants and one very dramatic canvas and leather trim pendant; both very different but fresh!

Beautiful linen and soft chambray blues took my breath away and look beautiful in a mix and match textural interior style. We can’t wait to expose these beautiful products in some of our up coming interior design projects!

Enjoy some photos of the highlights from the show below.
